Shake your shamrock or shamrock shake? Apparently, my kids report that the ‘big’ thing in our small town is going to McDonald’s for a shamrock shake. Did you know that a large shamrock shake from Mickey D’s, packs in 820 of not so healthy calories? You’ll shake more than just your shamrock if you or your kids drink one today! Looking an all-natural shamrock shake?

 

All-Natural Shamrock Shake

If you opt to forgo the fast food shamrock shake (your body will love you for it), jump over the rainbow to the pot of gold, umm, I mean, to a healthy alternative shake made with all-natural ingredients. No food coloring or artificial flavors! This recipe can be used as a base on which you can creatively expand…for example, my son decided we should kick it up a notch and add in a few drops of lime vitality essential oil.

 

Shamrock Shake Ingredients

  • 1 avocado, pit removed
  • 1 banana, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons honey {Note: You might want to add more to taste}
  • 13.5 oz. coconut milk (organic, 100% fat)
  • 1 drop of peppermint vitality essential oil
  • 2 teaspoons organic vanilla extract
  • 1 cup of ice cubes

Mix all ingredients in a blender until smooth. Adjust the honey to taste and if desired, add in spices for variety.

Experiment with ginger, cinnamon….the sky’s the limit. Let us know how you’ve adjusted this recipe and if your leprechauns enjoyed it!
