I am so excited….I just signed up for Erin Chase’s Grocery Budget Makeover and took advantage of signing up at the same time for her new MyFreezEasy program as well.

Since the beginning of time (well, ok, since I became a working parent), my mom, who studied Home Economics at Cornell, has insisted that I would save time and money if I cooked meals ahead and froze them. Sixteen years later (never too late to learn), I am finally gearing up for this, especially after reading that Erin’s program can help us cook 10 meals in an hour’s time. Time is money, so I am looking forward to saving both!!

In the weeks ahead, I will report back on my family’s progress!! In the meantime, ‘Bon appétit!’ and Happy Labor Day weekend!!!

Did you ever complete the Grocery Budget Makeover? I’m trying to decide if I want to do it, but I’m looking for real, honest feedback. Most of the program reviews are from bloggers who are tied with the person who presents the program, so I think that’s biased and they must be getting some sort of kickback. Any feedback you can provide would be appreciated!

Stacy, I am still working through it. We tried some of the recipes and had some success, but batch cooking is still a shift that’s a hard sell in my family, mainly due to cultural reasons. I’m thinking maybe I could try freezing up smaller lunch sized portions to make it easier to just pull lunch out of the freezer. (My kids are half French and seem to prefer fresh-cooked meals.) I’m not an affiliate for the Grocery Budget Makeover, but you are correct, many bloggers are, so it’s hard to know just how much to believe their rave reviews. I believe there should be a 30 day money back guarantee–if so, then I’d recommend trying it and to see if it’s a fit. If you do try it out, please let me know how it goes! (Again, I don’t receive any monetary compensation from the program.)
